Transfer Ban on Three Liga 1 Clubs Set to End, Is it True?

PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) has stated that the FIFA-imposed transfer bans on three Liga 1 clubs will soon be lifted, as the issues surrounding them have been resolved. The affected clubs—PSM Makassar, Persik Kediri, and PSIS Semarang—were initially prohibited from engaging in transfer activities due to unresolved disputes, particularly over unpaid player or staff wages.
Persik Kediri faced the ban starting January 27, 2025, PSM Makassar from March 28, and PSIS Semarang on April 2. These sanctions are typically imposed by FIFA when a club fails to settle financial disputes. Ferry Paulus, the CEO of PT LIB, confirmed that while the issue is not yet officially resolved, the organizations involved have been in discussions, and a solution seems imminent.
Paulus also reassured that the financial assistance from PT LIB could help the clubs overcome these issues. He expressed confidence that with increased funding and support, such financial challenges would no longer pose a threat to the clubs' operations. Recently, PSIS Semarang saw departures of foreign players, including Roger Bonet and EvandroBrandao, further highlighting the pressure on the club.
