Shin Tae-yong Comments on South Korea U-17's Loss to Indonesia U-17 as He Becomes KFA Vice President

Shin Tae-yong, the former head coach of Indonesia’s national team, recently shared his thoughts on the U-17 Asia Cup match between South Korea U-17 and Indonesia U-17. Despite South Korea dominating the game, they were defeated 1-0 by Indonesia, with the only goal coming in injury time after a missed penalty was followed by a rebound shot from EvandraFlorasta.
Shin Tae-yong noted the improvement in Southeast Asian football, including Indonesia, but dismissed the idea that the loss signaled a decline in South Korean football. He believed that South Korea simply lacked luck in converting their chances, emphasizing their dominance in the match and commending Indonesia's strong defense.
In addition to his comments on the game, it was announced that Shin Tae-yong had been appointed as the Vice President of the Korea Football Association (KFA) alongside former Vietnam coach Park Hang-seo. Meanwhile, Indonesia U-17 advanced to the quarterfinals of the U-17 Asia Cup and secured their spot in the 2025 U-17 World Cup.
