Top Young Talents in Liga 1 2024-25
The 2024-25 Liga 1 season has seen the emergence of several young players who initially earned playing time due to league regulations. However, many of them have proven their worth beyond just fulfilling the quota, becoming key figures for their respective teams.
As of Matchweek 27, three standout young players have consistently performed as starters: Achmad Maulana and Arkhan Fikri from Arema FC, and Rahmat Arjuna from Bali United. These players have shown significant improvement compared to the previous season, earning more playing time and becoming vital to their teams' strategies.
Achmad Maulana, originally a defensive midfielder, has excelled as a right-back for Arema FC. His defensive abilities have made him a crucial asset, often shutting down opposing wingers. Despite missing some matches due to national team duties and suspensions, he remains the first-choice right-back.
Arkhan Fikri, an attacking midfielder, has also solidified his role in Arema FC's starting lineup, stepping up as the team's playmaker. With the club's foreign playmaker sidelined, Arkhan has taken on more responsibility and even scored his first goal of the season in Matchweek 23. His performance has been consistent, following his recognition as the Best Young Player in the 2024 President's Cup.
Rahmat Arjuna has been a key player for Bali United, impressing with his speed and determination on the wing. At just 20 years old, he has already scored five goals in 24 appearances, outshining more experienced teammates. Despite Bali United's inconsistent season, Arjuna has established himself as a dangerous winger in the league.
With their continued development and strong performances, one of these players could follow in the footsteps of last season’s Best Young Player, Fajar Fathurrohman, and claim the award this year.
