AC Milan Lines Up Victor Boniface as Backup Plan if Hojlund Deal Falls Through

AC Milan is actively pursuing a new striker during the transfer window, with Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund being their top target. The Danish forward is reportedly open to a return to Serie A, and Milan has proposed a loan offer worth €5 million with a purchase option in the range of €35–40 million. The club sees Hojlund as the ideal addition to lead their attacking line next season.
However, in case negotiations with Manchester United do not reach a successful conclusion, Milan has identified Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen as their primary alternative. The Nigerian striker, under contract until 2028, has a market value that aligns with Milan's transfer budget for the position. His physical presence and scoring ability make him a strong candidate to reinforce the team’s front line.
Another name still under consideration is Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus. Despite being a long-time target, the Serbian striker's high salary presents a significant obstacle. While Juventus is willing to negotiate a fee of around €20 million, Vlahovic's annual net salary of €12 million remains a major barrier, as Milan is unlikely to accommodate such financial demands.
Milan’s focus on a new striker comes after strengthening other key areas of the squad, including the arrivals of Koni De Winter and a new right-back. With those positions addressed, the club is now turning its attention to finalizing the forward line, hoping that the next signing will be the final piece to complete their summer transfer objectives.
