Federico Chiesa Eyes Serie A Return as AC Milan Emerges Among Interested Clubs
Federico Chiesa is reportedly set to leave Liverpool this summer, with AC Milan listed among several Serie A clubs interested in signing the winger. Sources close to the football agent industry suggest that aside from Milan, teams like Atalanta, Bologna, and Napoli are also pursuing Chiesa, who seems keen on returning to Italy for more playing time and a chance to rejoin the national team.
Chiesa appears eager to move back to Serie A after a challenging spell at Anfield, where game time has been limited. Liverpool, on their part, are open to letting him go should an agreement be reached with another club. Napoli and Atalanta are currently the frontrunners in the race to sign the former Juventus player, with both clubs exploring different transfer strategies.
Atalanta, for instance, may sell Ademola Lookman for a significant fee and use the funds to bring in Chiesa as his replacement, although negotiations with Liverpool have yet to progress. Meanwhile, Napoli’s approach involves an initial loan deal with an option to buy for €9 million. Bologna remains a possible suitor but has yet to make a formal offer, and AC Milan’s interest has not been fully confirmed.
Despite Milan’s reported interest, their wing positions are currently well-stocked with talents like Rafael Leao, Noah Okafor, Christian Pulisic, and Samuel Chukwueze. This abundance of options might affect their urgency in pursuing Chiesa, leaving his future in Serie A an intriguing subplot as the summer transfer window unfolds.
