Arab Clubs Court Barcelona Stars Raphinha and Ferran Torres with Lucrative Offers

Wealthy Saudi Arabian clubs are aggressively targeting several Barcelona players, including forwards Raphinha and Ferran Torres, in their effort to strengthen their squads in the Saudi Pro League. Barcelona finds itself in a position where it may need to sell key players, as many are attracting significant interest from the Middle East, partly due to the club’s need to manage its financial challenges.
Raphinha, who also serves as Barcelona’s captain, has been a long-standing target for clubs in the region and has shown openness to a move. However, Barcelona’s coach Hansi Flick has persuaded him to stay for now. Still, the persistent offers from Saudi clubs could lead Barcelona to consider a transfer to ease wage pressures, especially since the club has made it clear that no player is untouchable amid the ongoing financial restructuring.
Besides Raphinha, other Barcelona players like Fermin Lopez and Andreas Christensen have also been linked with potential moves to Saudi Arabia. There is talk that both could soon join clubs competing in the Saudi Pro League. Even star striker Robert Lewandowski has received offers from the Middle East for the second time, though concrete negotiations have yet to be confirmed.
Ferran Torres is reportedly being offered a lucrative three-year contract worth around 20 million euros annually, making his move increasingly likely. The 25-year-old, formerly of Manchester City, has expressed a desire to leave Barcelona, and this offer from Saudi clubs could be a tempting exit option. Barcelona’s recent precedent of selling Franck Kessie to Saudi club Al Ahli in 2023 signals a growing trend of top players moving to the region.
