Galatasaray Breaks Turkish Transfer Record with Victor Osimhen Signing

Galatasaray has set a new record in Turkish football by securing the transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli for a staggering 75 million euros, approximately 1.4 trillion rupiah. This move makes Osimhen the most expensive player ever signed in Turkey, ending a bidding war that involved several top European and Saudi clubs, including Manchester United, which had considered player swaps to acquire him.
Previously on loan at Galatasaray, Osimhen's permanent transfer marks a significant coup for the Turkish club, especially after a challenging negotiation process with Napoli. The transfer fee dwarfs the previous record held by Fenerbahce’s signing of Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla for 20 million euros in 2024. Part of the deal includes a clause granting Napoli 10% of any future transfer fee if Osimhen moves to another club during his four-year contract with Galatasaray.
Under the terms of his new contract, Osimhen will earn a net annual salary of 15 million euros, along with additional bonuses such as a loyalty payment and significant compensation for the use of his name and image in club promotions. This highlights the club’s commitment to making Osimhen a central figure both on and off the pitch.
Napoli had attempted to sell Osimhen at the start of the previous season, but the transfer failed to materialize before the deadline. Now, with this landmark deal, Galatasaray not only strengthens its attacking options but also sends a strong message about its ambitions in Turkish and European football.
