Real Madrid Eyes Rodri Transfer in 2026 Amid Contract Uncertainty at Man City
Real Madrid continues to monitor Manchester City midfielder Rodri as a long-term target, although a transfer is not expected in the current window. The Spanish club is reportedly interested in bringing the 29-year-old back to La Liga, but the move is likely to happen no earlier than the summer of 2026, when his market value could decrease as his contract nears its end.
Currently, Rodri’s valuation remains high, with estimates reaching €110 million, making a transfer this year financially unfeasible for Real Madrid. Manchester City has shown no interest in selling their key midfielder, and Rodri is under contract until the summer of 2027. However, there has been no indication of a contract renewal so far, which gives Madrid confidence in waiting for a more favorable opportunity.
Madrid’s management believes that by 2026, Rodri’s transfer fee will drop significantly due to his expiring contract. This would make him a more attainable target for the Spanish giants, who see him as a natural fit in their midfield structure under future plans.
