Manchester United Stand Firm on Transfer Valuations Amid Summer Squad Overhaul
As the summer transfer window nears its end, Manchester United has taken decisive steps regarding its squad, particularly concerning players no longer in the club's immediate plans. Manager Ruben Amorim excluded five players—Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia—from the main squad for the U.S. preseason tour due to tactical considerations. Rashford has already secured a move to Barcelona, while the remaining four continue to train separately at Carrington as their futures remain uncertain.
Despite growing interest from several European clubs, including Juventus and Real Betis, Manchester United remains unwilling to offload any of their players at a discounted price. Amorim emphasized that the club has established firm valuations for each player and will not compromise, even as the transfer deadline approaches. Players who do not attract offers that meet United’s terms are expected to remain at Old Trafford.
Amorim acknowledged that some of the sidelined players are actively seeking new opportunities, while others are still weighing their options. The club is offering them space and time to make informed decisions without pressure. Although interested teams may be hoping for last-minute deals, Manchester United is prepared to retain any players who remain unsold, maintaining a professional and measured approach throughout the window.
So far, United has signed Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Diego Leon to strengthen the squad. However, Amorim is still hoping to bring in an additional striker and defensive midfielder before the window closes. While open to further signings, he remains content with the current group, citing their strong commitment to the club as a key factor in building a cohesive team for the upcoming season.
