Hendri Susilo Takes Charge as Malut United’s New Head Coach Ahead of 2025-26 Season
Malut United has officially appointed Hendri Susilo as their new head coach for the upcoming 2025-26 BRI Super League season, ending speculation following the departure of Imran Nahumarury in mid-June. After more than a month of keeping the decision under wraps, the club confirmed Hendri’s role, entrusting him to lead the team into their second season in Indonesia's top division. Based in Batu, East Java, Hendri brings with him both experience and fresh motivation to push the team further.
In their debut season, Malut United finished in an impressive third place, establishing themselves as serious contenders. With high expectations for their second campaign, the club has intensified preparations through training camps and friendly matches in Yogyakarta. Management views this upcoming season as a time for refinement, emphasizing improvements across several areas, including squad chemistry and tactical consistency under new leadership.
To support the new head coach, the club has made changes within the coaching staff. Achmad Resal Octavian has moved into the role of Technical Director, while Aji Lestaluhu has joined as assistant coach, collaborating with other staff members including Dedy Gusmawan, Aditya Putra Dewa, and Alief Syafrizal Muhammadin. Goalkeeper training continues under Alan Haviludin. These adjustments reflect the club’s strategy to blend experienced professionals with local talent.
Hendri Susilo’s coaching resume includes stints with nine different clubs, such as Persiraja, Semen Padang, PSPS, and Sriwijaya FC. He is best known for guiding Persiraja to Liga 1 promotion in 2020 and for saving teams like Semen Padang and Sriwijaya from relegation in previous seasons.
