Elkan Baggott Shines in Pre-Season as Ipswich Town Extends His Contract
Elkan Baggott has been included in the senior squad of Ipswich Town for the 2025-26 Championship season, following a contract extension that keeps him at the club until June 2026. This development marks a significant step for the Indonesian center-back, who now has a chance to prove himself during the pre-season period.
In a pre-season match against FC Blau, Baggott started and delivered a solid performance, wearing jersey number 15. He impressed with his defensive contributions, including interceptions, aerial duels, and build-up play. Although he received a yellow card, his dominant display helped Ipswich secure a convincing 4-1 win.
Ipswich maintained control throughout the game, scoring twice through Hirst George in the first half and adding two more goals in the second half. Baggott was subbed off at halftime, but his first-half presence was instrumental in the team's early dominance. This appearance is especially notable, considering his limited chances in previous seasons, when he was often loaned to other clubs like Bristol Rovers and Blackpool FC.
