Persipura Jayapura has announced the addition of 12 new players ahead of the Liga 2 2025-26 season, significantly shaping the team’s lineup. Interestingly, half of these newcomers previously played for PSBS Biak during the 2024-2025 Liga 1 season, bringing a PSBS influence to the squad. Several of these players are not new faces to Persipura, having had prior stints with the club before moving to PSBS Biak. Names like Todd RivaldoFerre and John Pigai have history with Persipura, creating a blend of familiarity and fresh energy within the squad. This connection is partly influenced by Owen Rahadian, who holds a leadership role in both clubs, serving as Persipura’s team manager and having ties with PSBS Biak.
The club’s chairman has entrusted Rahadian and head coach Ricardo Salampessy with the responsibility of preparing the team for the challenges ahead.
