Conte Eyes Jack Grealish to Boost Napoli’s European Ambitions

Jack Grealish has emerged as a key target for Napoli as they aim to strengthen their squad for European competitions. The 29-year-old, who was bought by Manchester City for £100 million from Aston Villa in 2021, has seen his role at the Etihad Stadium diminish this season. Despite playing an important part in City's treble-winning campaign last season, Grealish's performance has dropped, and he has struggled to secure a starting spot under Pep Guardiola, managing only one goal and one assist in 19 Premier League appearances.
Under the management of Antonio Conte, Napoli is keen on bringing Grealish to Serie A. Conte, a fan of Grealish's playing style, believes that the English midfielder's creativity would elevate Napoli’s attacking options, especially as they aim to compete at a higher level in the Champions League. Despite still having a contract with Manchester City until 2027, Grealish's limited playing time this season has made him a potential departure, with the club willing to listen to offers for the right price.
Grealish, who is open to leaving the Premier League for a fresh challenge, sees a move abroad as a possibility, particularly if it helps secure a return to the England squad. Napoli, leading Serie A, has a strong record of signing former Premier League stars, and Grealish could add the creativity they need for their European ambitions. However, a transfer fee remains a hurdle, with Manchester City preferring to sell the player outside of England, which could benefit Napoli in their pursuit.
