Denny Landzaat Linked to Willem II Head Coach Position

Denny Landzaat Linked to Willem II Head Coach Position
Denny Landzaat, the assistant coach of the Indonesian national team, has emerged as a strong candidate for the head coach role at Dutch top-flight club Willem II Tilburg. Landzaat’s connection to the club is deep, having played for Willem II in the past, which could make him a suitable choice to lead the team. The club is currently in search of a new head coach after parting ways with Peter Maes due to disappointing results that have left Willem II in danger of relegation. The position is now temporarily filled by caretaker Kristof Aelbrecht.
Several candidates are reportedly under consideration for the role, and Landzaat is among the top choices. He is noted for his solid coaching career, which spans over a decade. Landzaat previously served as an assistant coach at Willem II for one season, adding to his familiarity with the club. His playing career at Willem II was also noteworthy, as he played over 160 matches and even participated in the UEFA Champions League.
However, Landzaat's current role as an assistant coach with the Indonesian national team could complicate his potential move to Willem II. It is uncertain whether the Indonesian Football Association would allow him to take on the head coach position at a club, especially so soon after his appointment to the national team staff. Along with Landzaat, other candidates like Kristof Aelbrecht, Erwin van de Looi, Roger Meijer, and John Stegeman are also being considered for the job.
