Sergio Conceicao Set to Depart AC Milan Even If Coppa Italia Victory is Achieved

Sergio Conceicao is reportedly planning to resign from his position as AC Milan's head coach, regardless of whether he leads the team to victory in the upcoming Coppa Italia final. The club is also said to be considering parting ways with the Portuguese coach if Milan fails to clinch the title. Despite winning the Supercoppa and managing a season without defeat in the Milan derby, his overall performance in Serie A has not met expectations, with the team currently sitting in 9th place with only a few games left.
Conceicao, who took over from Paulo Fonseca in December 2024, signed a contract with Milan until 2026. However, the club has the option to terminate his contract at the end of this season. Milan has already decided to seek a new coach for the 2025-2026 campaign, with Massimiliano Allegri being mentioned as a potential replacement.
With only four matches remaining in Serie A, Conceicao's fate seems sealed, regardless of the outcome of the Coppa Italia final against Bologna on May 14. Milan's disappointing league performance appears to have led to the decision for a managerial change, signaling the end of Conceicao's brief tenure at the club.
