Persib’s Heavy Financial Burden Due to PSSI Disciplinary Sanctions
As Liga 1 2024-25 enters an international break, clubs have given their players time off, including Persib Bandung. After their match against Semen Padang on March 10, 2025, the team is scheduled to resume training on March 21.
Currently, Persib sits comfortably at the top of the standings with 57 points from 16 wins, nine draws, and just two losses. Their closest competitor, Dewa United, trails by eight points with a total of 49.
Despite their strong performance, Persib has also become one of the clubs that have spent the most on disciplinary fines imposed by the PSSI Disciplinary Committee. As of March 17, 2025, the club has paid a total of Rp 720 million in sanctions, with Rp 635 million covered by the team and Rp 85 million paid by two players.
Marc Klok was fined Rp 10 million for an additional suspension following a red card, while Beckham Putra faced a Rp 75 million penalty for a controversial ‘ice cold’ gesture during the match against Persija Jakarta on February 16, 2025.
The majority of Persib’s fines stem from flare ignitions and fan-related incidents at away matches. The most significant penalty was Rp 295 million due to a riot during the home game against Persija on September 23, 2024, which resulted in stadium bans for multiple matches.

Other infractions include flare ignitions, fan misconduct, player bookings, and delays in kick-off, with individual fines ranging from Rp 20 million to Rp 75 million. These sanctions underline the financial strain on the club and the importance of stricter regulation of fan and team behavior.
