Jordi Cruyff, the technical advisor for the Indonesia national team, has outlined the qualities needed in a Technical Director for the national squad. The position of technical director has been vacant for quite some time, and its filling is crucial for the team's development.
During a press conference in Jakarta on March 11, Cruyff emphasized that the ideal candidate for this role should have experience working with diverse countries, cultures, and strategies. It’s also important for the individual to collaborate effectively with coaches across all age groups.
He highlighted that the technical director should be actively involved in day-to-day operations, formulating strategies and methods to achieve set goals. Additionally, having international experience is crucial for quick adaptation to new environments.
Cruyff further stressed that the technical director must foster teamwork and share a unified vision for the national team’s future.
With a background as a former player, Jordi Cruyff has also held various roles in sports management, including serving as a sporting director at AEK Larnaca and Maccabi Tel Aviv. In 2021, he became a strategic advisor at Barcelona and later served as the sporting director there.
Jordi, whose family background includes international experiences, shared that growing up in a multicultural environment helped him adapt to new challenges. His career path has been shaped by his passion for football, as he navigated both Spanish and Dutch football scenes, playing for the Netherlands while living in Spain.
