Patrick Kluivert Confirms Indonesia National Team's Gathering in Sydney on March 16, 2025
Indonesia's national team coach, Patrick Kluivert, has confirmed that the squad will assemble directly in Sydney, Australia, on March 16, 2025, ahead of their upcoming World Cup 2026 Qualifier match against Australia. Kluivert did not reveal any plans for a training camp in Jakarta prior to the gathering.
The announcement came after Kluivert attended the introduction event of Jordi Cruyff in Senayan, Jakarta, on March 11, 2025. Kluivert has called up a provisional squad of 27 players, with the potential addition of three more: Emil Audero, Joey Pelupessy, and Dean James. These players, who have recently gained Indonesian citizenship, are still awaiting the final process of transferring their federation allegiance from KNVB to PSSI, which is necessary for them to represent Indonesia.
The match against Australia is set to take place at Sydney Football Stadium on March 20, 2025, as part of the third round of Group C in the World Cup 2026 Qualifiers. Given that many of Indonesia's players are based in Europe, it makes sense for the team to head straight to Sydney for efficiency.
After facing Australia, the Indonesian team will host Bahrain at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) on March 25, 2025.
