Real Sociedad Official: Deeply Incomprehensible About the Schedule for the Next Ten Days
Real Sociedad Football Club has officially expressed strong dissatisfaction with the match schedule over the next ten days.
The club stated:
"We find it incomprehensible that our Matchday 19 fixture against Villarreal will be played on Monday, January 13. In our view, this seriously violates the principles of fair play, and we find it difficult to understand.
Additionally, the rescheduling of the Matchday 20 fixture, originally set to take place in Valencia at 6:30 PM (local time) on January 19, is equally unacceptable to us. The new kickoff time has been moved to 9:30 PM (local time) on the same day. For residents of San Sebastián and Azpeitia, January 19 is one of the most special nights of the year, a time when they celebrate this festive occasion wherever they are. We made efforts to schedule the match at the originally set time according to league regulations, but unfortunately, we were not successful.
We reiterate our commitment to fulfilling all obligations related to La Liga partners, including television broadcasters, sponsors, and the broadcast schedule. However, we wish to remind fans and other clubs involved in La Liga of the importance of this matter. We firmly believe that decisions that take football away from the people are harmful, and La Liga’s lack of sensitivity in this regard is shocking."
