The draw ceremony for the UEFA qualifiers of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico, was held in Zurich, Switzerland. After the groupings were announced, Portugal's head coach Roberto Martínez gave an interview.

Regarding the draw, Martínez stated: "There are no difficult matches, and there are no easy matches. These games all require solid preparation, and our team needs to perform at its best—nothing more. For now, we must focus on the matches in March, when we will understand the path we need to take to qualify for the 2026 World Cup."

Speaking about Cristiano Ronaldo, Martínez said: "I believe the secret to our captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, lies in his continuous improvement every day and his constant efforts to make a significant impact on the team. This will not change. We now have two very clear paths. Regardless of whether we beat Denmark or lose to Denmark, the path forward is set, and our goal is to play only six matches. For us, this is the most important thing. On a personal level, we are solely focused on the matches in March."
