Claudia Scheunemann Makes History Joining Dutch Club FC Utrecht Vrouwen
Indonesian women’s national team forward Claudia Scheunemann has officially signed with FC Utrecht Vrouwen, a top-division Dutch club. At just 19 years old, this marks her first professional contract, a significant milestone in her budding football career. The club announced the signing on their official Instagram account, welcoming Claudia into the team ahead of the 2025-26 season in the Vrouwen Eredivisie.

Before turning professional, Claudia developed her skills at Hamburg SV’s academy in 2024-2025 and previously played for Young Warrior FA from 2018 to 2024. She has represented Indonesia at multiple age levels, including the senior national team since 2023, U-20 in 2022, and U-17 in 2024. Her international experience culminated recently with her participation in the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers in July 2025.

Claudia comes from a football-oriented family, being the niece of former Indonesia women's national team coach Timo Scheunemann and cousin to Brandon Scheunemann, a defender for Arema FC. Her move to Utrecht not only signifies a personal achievement but also makes her the first Indonesian woman to play professional football in Europe, a groundbreaking step for Indonesian women’s soccer.

Excited and proud, Claudia expressed her enthusiasm about joining Utrecht and living her dream in European football. She looks forward to training with her new teammates and proving her ability on the pitch. Despite feeling a bit shy at first, she is confident that her skills will shine once she steps onto the field, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter in her career.
