Bennacer and Adli Stand Firm at AC Milan Despite Being Left Out of Allegri’s Plans

AC Milan is facing a transfer dilemma as midfielders Ismael Bennacer and Yacine Adli have declined offers to leave, even though they are no longer part of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans for the upcoming season. Neither player was included in the club's preseason tour to Asia and Australia, a clear sign that they have been excluded from the first-team squad for the 2025–26 campaign.
Bennacer turned down a lucrative offer from a Saudi Pro League club, while Adli rejected an approach from a Russian side. Their refusal to transfer has reportedly cost Milan a potential 35 million euros in revenue, forcing the club to reevaluate its options. The coaching staff has remained firm in its decision to move forward without the two midfielders.
Further evidence of their marginalization is seen in training assignments, with Adli already practicing with Milan Futuro, the club’s reserve setup. Bennacer, on the other hand, is still determined to continue his career in top-level European football, choosing long-term ambition over short-term financial gain. His current contract at San Siro runs until 2027, giving him the security to resist pressure to move.
Although their market values have become a point of debate, with some sources suggesting lower figures than initially reported, interest from clubs like Sassuolo and Hellas Verona offers a possible exit route for Adli. Milan must now find a way to resolve the situation without further financial or sporting disruption, as both players remain under contract but outside the club’s strategic plans.
