Persija Strengthens Defense with Thales Lira as Ninth Foreign Signing
Persija Jakarta has officially signed Brazilian center-back Thales Lira on loan from Arema FC for the upcoming 2025-26 Super League season. His arrival boosts the team’s defensive depth, providing head coach Mauricio Souza with another reliable option alongside Rizky Ridho, Jordi Amat, and Hansamu Yama Pranata. Thales becomes the club’s ninth foreign player, highlighting Persija’s ambition to build a competitive squad.
With previous experience at PSS Sleman and Arema FC, Thales is no stranger to Indonesian football.
