AC Milan Explore Swap Deal with Juventus for Vlahovic Amid Salary and Fee Hurdles
AC Milan is actively exploring options to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus, identifying the Serbian striker as a top target to strengthen their attacking line under coach Massimiliano Allegri. While direct progress in negotiations has been limited, Milan is reportedly considering a player exchange to facilitate the deal, with defender Malick Thiaw emerging as a potential part of the arrangement. Juventus, in need of defensive reinforcements, could view Thiaw as a suitable replacement for Daniele Rugani.

The idea of a straight swap appears unlikely, with Juventus still seeking a financial component in addition to any player included in the deal. The Bianconeri are under financial pressure and have shown more interest in cash-based solutions. As a result, Milan might gain leverage through a hybrid offer that combines a lower fee with player compensation, possibly making the move more appealing for both sides.

Juventus has lowered Vlahovic’s asking price from €40 million to €25 million amid urgency to resolve the player’s future, especially after rejecting his request to terminate his contract early. Despite the discount, Milan remains reluctant to meet that valuation outright, with salary demands posing another major obstacle. Vlahovic currently earns €12 million per year net at Juventus, a figure Milan is unwilling to match.

Milan’s wage structure complicates matters further, as their current highest-paid player, Rafael Leão, earns €7 million annually. Offering Vlahovic significantly more could disrupt dressing room harmony. While Allegri is keen to reunite with his former striker and Vlahovic is open to joining Milan, the combination of transfer fees, wage expectations, and internal financial balance continues to stall the potential move.
