Yann Motta Joins Arema FC to Strengthen Defense
Arema FC has officially announced the signing of Yann Motta, a Brazilian defender who previously played for Persija Jakarta in the 2020–21 season. His arrival adds a fresh Latin flair to Arema’s squad, known as Singo Edan, enhancing the team's defensive options. This move follows a series of Brazilian additions to the club, including head coach Marcos Santos, assistant Andre Caladas, and players Paulinho Moccelin, Valdeci Moreira, and Odivan Koerich.

Alongside these newcomers, Arema has retained several key Brazilian players from last season such as Lucas Frigeri, Thales Nathanael Lira, Pablo Oliveira, and Dalberto Luan, maintaining a strong Latin presence within the team’s core lineup. This strategic focus on Brazilian talent aims to boost the squad’s competitiveness in the upcoming Liga 1 season.

Yann Motta brings valuable experience from his time in Liga 1, having appeared in 20 matches for Persija across league and cup competitions. His consistent performance, especially while partnering with notable defenders Otavio Dutra and Muhammad Ferarri, helped form a solid defensive foundation before the league was paused due to the pandemic. His contribution included logging significant minutes and scoring twice.

After his contract with Persija ended, Motta spent a season without a club before returning to Brazil, where he played for Tupi and Nova Valencia. Now, his return to Indonesia with Arema marks a new chapter, as the club looks to strengthen its defense and capitalize on the blend of experienced Brazilian players and local talents.
