Persik Kediri Secures Irkham Mila to Maintain Team’s Speed and Versatility for Liga 1 2025-26
Persik Kediri has taken a smart step to maintain squad depth ahead of the 2025-26 BRI Liga 1 season by signing Irkham Mila. This move comes after winger RiyatnoAbiyoso left for PSIM, a newly promoted Liga 1 club. Both players are known for their speed and ability to penetrate defenses, but Irkham brings additional versatility by being able to play not only as a winger on both flanks but also as an attacking midfielder.
With Irkham Mila’s arrival, Persik gains a strong contender in the wide attacking positions, competing with key players like Ezra Walian on the left and Hugo Samir and M. Supriadi on the right. Additionally, Irkham offers another option in the attacking midfield role, complementing Bayu Otto’s reliable presence in that position. His playing time had been limited recently due to the team’s focus on foreign player Majed Osman.
The addition of Irkham also bolsters Persik’s offensive options, adding competition for spots alongside recent signing M. Khanafi and Yandi Sofyan, both of whom strengthen the team’s attacking lineup. The club’s management, including Arthur Irawan who is familiar with Irkham’s quality from his time at PSS, is confident that this signing will enhance the team’s performance.
While Persik has secured this important local addition, uncertainty remains about their foreign striker situation. Ramiro Fergonzi’s contract was not renewed, and the club has yet to announce any new foreign attacker signings, making it an intriguing point to watch as the new season approaches.
