Persib Secures Versatile Defender Al Hamra Hehanussa for 2025-26 Season
Persib Bandung has officially signed Al Hamra Hehanussa, a versatile 26-year-old defender, to strengthen their squad for the upcoming Liga 1 2025-26 season. The two-year contract is part of the club’s ongoing squad rejuvenation strategy and aims to prepare the team for both domestic competition and the AFC Champions League Two campaign. The club’s management expressed high expectations for Hamra’s contributions on the field in the coming years.
Before joining Persib, Al Hamra played for Persik Kediri, where he demonstrated his adaptability by effectively performing in multiple defensive roles, including center-back and right-back. This versatility aligns well with the philosophy of Persib’s head coach, Bojan Hodak, who values players capable of fitting into various tactical setups. Hamra’s ability to switch positions adds valuable flexibility to the team’s defensive line.
Al Hamra’s football journey began at Persija Jakarta’s academy, and he made his professional debut with the club in 2018. He spent time on loan at Dewa United before establishing himself at Persik Kediri over the last three seasons. During his tenure at Persik, he made 68 appearances and contributed five goals along with three assists, impressive statistics for a defender known for his determination and fighting spirit.
