Persib Parts Ways with Eight Key Players Ahead of New Season
Persib Bandung has officially parted ways with eight players following the conclusion of the 2024-25 Liga 1 season. Most of the departures involve foreign players who had a significant impact during the club’s championship-winning campaign. The latest exit confirmed was Gervane Kastaneer, a Curacao forward who joined mid-season and contributed modestly to the team’s success with one goal and one assist in 14 appearances.

Among the standout departures is Tyronne del Pino, a Spanish midfielder who played a crucial role throughout the season by scoring 18 goals and providing six assists in the league, alongside additional contributions in the AFC Champions League 2. Kevin Ray Mendoza, the Danish-Filipino goalkeeper, also exits after becoming a reliable figure during a goalkeeping crisis and helping the team win back-to-back Liga 1 titles.

Another major exit is long-serving defender Nick Kuipers, who concluded his six-year stint at the club after helping Persib secure their latest title. Brazilian forward Ciro Alves, known for his creativity and consistent goal involvement, also bid farewell. His combined tally over two seasons saw him contribute to nearly 50 goals, reinforcing his importance in Persib’s attacking setup during their recent title runs.

In addition to these players, the club also released Mateo Kocijan, Victor Igbonefo, Ahmad Agung Setia Budi, and goalkeeper coach Luizinho Passos. While the departures reflect a significant squad overhaul, the futures of two remaining foreign players, Gustavo França and David da Silva, are still unconfirmed. If they also exit, Persib may undergo a complete foreign player revamp heading into the 2025/2026 season.
