Indonesia Finalizes 23-Man Squad Without Jenner for Japan Showdown

Indonesia will face Japan in the final match of Group C in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Asian Qualifiers without midfielder Ivar Jenner. Jenner has been dropped from the squad due to a one-match suspension, having accumulated yellow cards against Saudi Arabia in 2024 and China on June 5, 2025.
His absence reduces the available players from 30 to 29. Jenner received his latest yellow card late in the second half against China, a match Indonesia won 1-0 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. That victory secured their place in the fourth round of the qualifiers.
Despite the drop in numbers, head coach Patrick Kluivert has decided not to call up a replacement. Confident in his current squad’s performance and depth, he believes no additional players are needed and plans to bring all 29 remaining players to Japan for the match on June 10, 2025, at Suita Stadium in Osaka.
However, based on AFC regulations, only 23 players can be officially registered for the match. Kluivert will have to cut six more names before the game, finalizing the roster that will take on Japan in a crucial qualifying encounter.
