Inter Milan is actively searching for a new head coach following Simone Inzaghi’s departure to Al-Hilal, where he recently signed a two-year contract. Initially, Cesc Fabregas was their preferred candidate, but negotiations were blocked by Como, who wanted to keep Fabregas as their coach. Patrick Vieira was also considered, but Inter has now shifted its full focus to Cristian Chivu as the leading option.
Chivu is a familiar figure in Italian football, having previously played for Inter Milan and being part of the club’s historic treble-winning team. His growing reputation as a coach has made him an attractive candidate for Inter.
Piero Ausilio, Inter’s sporting director, has been closely involved in the discussions with Chivu since returning from London.
