Eliano Reijnders to Miss Indonesia National Team Matches Due to Family Commitment

Eliano Reijnders will not participate in Indonesia’s upcoming World Cup 2026 third-round qualifying matches against China and Japan as he awaits the birth of his child. The Indonesian team is scheduled to face China at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on June 5, 2025, and then travel to Japan for a match at Suita Football City Stadium five days later. During this important period, Reijnders has chosen to prioritize being with his family.
The coaching staff fully supports his decision, emphasizing that family comes first, and adjustments have been made to the squad accordingly. Despite his absence, the team remains optimistic and confident in their ability to perform well in the upcoming matches. Head coach Patrick Kluivert reassured fans that the squad will still represent Indonesia strongly.
Reijnders expressed gratitude for the understanding and support from the Indonesian football community. Though he cannot join the team on the field, he continues to send his best wishes and encouragement for the national squad’s success. His dedication to the team remains unwavering even as he focuses on this personal milestone.
Since making his debut in October 2024 against Bahrain, Reijnders has contributed to the national team by playing in matches against Australia and Bahrain earlier in 2025. His absence will be felt, but the team aims to carry forward the momentum in these crucial World Cup qualifiers.
