Real Madrid Accelerates Transfers Ahead of Club World Cup
Real Madrid is actively strengthening its squad for the upcoming season, with two confirmed signings and ongoing negotiations for two more players. The arrival of new head coach Xabi Alonso has brought a fresh approach to the team’s transfer strategy, and he is already involved in shaping the club’s player acquisitions. With the goal of building a balanced team for the future, Real Madrid is focusing on improving their defense and midfield ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

The club has already secured the signings of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth and Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool, bolstering their defensive options. Huijsen is expected to be a long-term investment as a key center-back, while Alexander-Arnold will provide valuable experience and quality ball distribution from the right side. In addition, Real Madrid is close to finalizing a deal for left-back Alvaro Carreras, further strengthening their defense with top-quality players across all positions.

Xabi Alonso is also keen on adding a midfielder who can control the tempo of the game and connect the team’s play. One target is young talent Nico Paz, currently playing for Como in Italy. Madrid is considering triggering the buy-back clause on Paz, which would cost them €9 million. However, the arrival of Paz would create a competitive situation in midfield, as both he and Arda Guler occupy similar attacking midfield roles, potentially complicating Alonso’s player rotation. Meanwhile, Inter Milan is reportedly monitoring Paz’s situation in case Real Madrid decides not to exercise the buy-back option.
