Persib Bandung Clinches Consecutive Titles as Dominant Force in Liga 1
Persib Bandung secured the 2024025 Liga 1 Indonesia championship following a draw between Persebaya Surabaya and Persik Kediri, which mathematically eliminated all other contenders. With just three matches remaining in the season, Persib stood unchallenged at the top of the standings with 64 points, a tally that neither Dewa United nor Persebaya could surpass, even with perfect finishes. This outcome confirmed Persib’s status as league champions once again.
This latest title marks Persib Bandung’s second consecutive Liga 1 victory, solidifying their back-to-back championship run. The club had already claimed the title in the previous season under head coach BojanHodak. This rare achievement places them alongside Bali United as one of only two teams to have successfully defended their Liga 1 crown in successive seasons.
Since its inception in 2017, Liga 1 has become the premier football league in Indonesia, replacing older formats such as the ISL and ISC. Over the years, several clubs have claimed the title, including Bhayangkara FC, Persija Jakarta, and PSM Makassar. However, only Persib Bandung and Bali United have demonstrated the consistency required to win consecutive seasons, highlighting their dominance in modern Indonesian football.
