Paul Pogba Eyes MLS Comeback as DC United Leads Transfer Race

DC United is reportedly in advanced talks with French midfielder Paul Pogba regarding a potential move to Major League Soccer. Negotiations have been ongoing for several months, with both sides exchanging contract proposals. Holding MLS discovery rights for Pogba, DC United has exclusive negotiation privileges, and their top executive has already met directly with the player, who resides part-time in Miami.
While discussions with DC United are serious, Pogba remains open to other options, including possible returns to European or Middle Eastern clubs. His final decision is expected in the coming weeks as he works toward regaining full match fitness following a lengthy suspension due to a doping violation. Initially handed a four-year ban, Pogba successfully appealed and had it reduced to 18 months.
Since January 2025, Pogba has resumed training, and by March, he became eligible to play again. Now a free agent after parting ways with Juventus last November, the 2018 World Cup winner is seeking a fresh chapter in his career, with MLS emerging as a strong contender for his next destination.
