Conceiçao Set to Leave Milan Regardless of Coppa Italia Outcome

Sergio Conceiçao is expected to leave AC Milan at the end of the season, whether he wins the Coppa Italia or not. Reports suggest that the Portuguese coach will choose to resign if Milan triumphs over Bologna in the final on May 14, while the club plans to dismiss him if they fail to lift the trophy. Despite having a contract until 2026, the decision to part ways appears to be mutual and imminent.
Conceiçao took over from Paulo Fonseca in December and managed to win the SupercoppaItaliana in January by defeating both Juventus and Inter. He also maintained an unbeaten record against Inter in Serie A. However, under his leadership, Milan's overall league form has remained disappointing, with the club currently sitting in 9th place with only four matches left in the season.
With Milan already planning for a new manager, speculation has grown around possible replacements. Massimiliano Allegri has been mentioned as a leading candidate, and interestingly, Conceiçao referenced him during a recent press conference after Milan’s win over Venezia. Regardless of the Coppa Italia result, it seems clear that Milan will enter the 2025–26 season with a new figure on the bench.
