Barcelona ready to sell Raphinha, player wants to stay
Barcelona are reportedly willing to sell ‘world-class’ Raphinha in the summer for a big offer, with the Brazilian leaning towards a stay.
According to TBR, Barcelona are reportedly ready to sell Raphinha for around £80 million in the summer. A host of clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are alert to the Brazilian’s situation although the ‘world-class’ winger is leaning towards staying put in Catalonia.
Raphinha is having a tremendous season on all fronts, as he has finally shown his class and talent with Barcelona. Last summer, director Deco hinted he was ready to sell the winger amid the club’s well-documented financial issues as well as their big interest in Nico Williams after his performances at the Euros.
Neither of those ideas materialised, as Raphinha ended up staying with Barcelona to have a dream season thereafter. The Brazilian has 30 goals and 23 assists across all competitions as he’s also the top scorer in this season’s Champions League, where he can still improve his tally given Barcelona will face Inter Milan in the semifinals.
Irrespective of what happens in the remainder of the season, intermediaries have indicated Barcelona would reportedly sell the ‘world-class’ winger for a sizeable fee. The report states the Catalans could demand as much as £80 million and are essentially open to a sale amid big interest from Premier League sides.
Arsenal and Liverpool have been among those tracking Raphinha’s situation, while Chelsea have historically had an interest from his time at Leeds United. The Blues had come the closest among other parties before he joined Barcelona, as the English trio could be alerted to his potential availability in the summer.
Raphinha wants Barcelona stay
Barcelona could be tempted by the prospect of selling Raphinha for the reported price, although the £80 million-rated world-class star is not even thinking about a move. He wants to sign a new contract, as some reports did mention talks over a fresh deal are already underway.
For the season he’s had, Barcelona will be compelled to open talks over a new contract, as Raphinha does not want to leave anyway. Apart from the Premier League sides, Saudi Arabian sides are also keen and will be pushing for the Brazilian now that they have failed to secure Mohamed Salah. However, Raphinha has no interest in leaving the Catalan side and will make sure he stays here for the foreseeable future.
