Indonesia Set to Host 2025 AFF U-23 Championship in July

Indonesia has officially been selected to host the 2025 AFF U-23 Championship, with the tournament scheduled to take place from July 15 to 31. The confirmation came from the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), reinforcing earlier reports from ASEAN Football’s official social media channels. This upcoming event marks another significant milestone for Indonesian football, as the nation prepares to welcome the top U-23 teams from Southeast Asia.
The 2025 edition will be the sixth time the AFF U-23 Championship is held, following its inaugural launch in 2005. Vietnam currently holds the record for the most titles in the competition, having claimed the championship twice. Although Indonesia was previously slated to host the 2011 edition, that tournament was ultimately canceled, making this the first time the country will officially organize the event.
In recent years, Indonesia's U-23 team has shown strong performances, including reaching the final in the 2023 edition. Despite a valiant effort, the team fell short in a dramatic penalty shootout against Vietnam. With the upcoming tournament on home soil, hopes are high for a better outcome and potential championship glory.
