Hansi Flick Urges Barcelona to Sign New Striker and Goalkeeper in 2026

German coach Hansi Flick is reportedly in serious discussions with Barcelona's management about his future at the club, including a potential contract extension. Flick is said to be willing to extend his stay until 2027, but beyond that, he plans to reassess his situation.
During these talks, Flick has outlined several conditions for the club, one of which involves the 2026 summer transfer window. He has requested that Barcelona sign a new striker and goalkeeper to strengthen these key positions for the future.
Flick, along with sporting director Deco, believes Barcelona needs reinforcements in both attack and goalkeeping, but these signings are not planned for the 2025 summer transfer window. Both feel that the squad still has enough depth for the upcoming season, with Robert Lewandowski and WojciechSzczesny expected to remain reliable options for at least one more year.
At 36 years old, Lewandowski continues to be sharp in front of goal, while Szczesny has proven to be a solid addition since joining from Juventus. However, reports suggest that neither player is likely to stay beyond 2027, making it crucial for Barcelona to plan for their replacements.
Flick is content with Ferran Torres but believes the team still needs a true striker, as a player like Lewandowski is hard to replace without a new signing. Additionally, the future of Marc-André terStegen remains uncertain, and with Szczesny's one-year deal, Barcelona will need to add quality and depth to the goalkeeper position.
