Cristiano Ronaldo has teamed up with renowned British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn to establish an independent film studio, UR•Marv. The studio's mission is to blend cutting-edge technology with traditional filmmaking techniques, according to a recent announcement.
Ronaldo shared his excitement about the venture on social media, revealing that UR•Marv's first film will be announced soon. The partnership combines Ronaldo's passion for movies with Vaughn's love for sports and storytelling. Vaughn, widely recognized for producing Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch and for his work on the Kingsman franchise, praised Ronaldo as a "real-life superhero" and expressed enthusiasm about their creative collaboration.
Ronaldo, who captained Portugal to victory in Euro 2016 and has won five Ballon d'Or awards, sees this project as an exciting new chapter in his career. Through UR•Marv, the duo has already financed and produced two action films and is gearing up to begin a third installment in the series.
In addition to his football career, Ronaldo has been expanding into the media world. He became a shareholder in the Portuguese media group Medialivre in 2023 and launched his YouTube channel "UR Cristiano" in 2024, quickly reaching 1 million subscribers.
