Mourinho to Compete with Ancelotti for Brazil National Team Role

Jose Mourinho has emerged as a strong contender for the Brazil national team coaching position, joining Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid in a race for the job. The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) is considering a shortlist of four potential candidates after Dorival Junior’s departure following a heavy defeat to Argentina in World Cup qualifiers.
Mourinho, currently managing Fenerbahce, is joined by Ancelotti, Jorge Jesus of Al Hilal, and Abel Ferreira of Palmeiras. While Ancelotti has made it clear that his time at Real Madrid will be his last managerial position, Jesus is seen as the favorite due to his experience with Brazilian clubs and availability.
Mourinho's tenure at Fenerbahce has been rocky, with recent poor performances and controversies surrounding his conduct. Despite this, leading Brazil would present a significant opportunity, though it remains uncertain whether he would leave Fenerbahce in the midst of a critical season.
