Arema FC Eyes Persipura Star for Liga 1 Comeback

The market value of Persipura Jayapura players has risen following the 2024-25 Liga 2 season, with Ramai Rumakiek emerging as a top prospect. The winger attracted interest from Liga 1 club Arema FC after finishing as the league’s top scorer, netting 22 goals in 20 matches—a remarkable achievement for a young player showcasing his talent.  

His closest competitor, PSIM Yogyakarta’s foreign striker Rafinha, trailed slightly behind with 21 goals. However, despite his impressive performance, Rumakiek was not included in Patrick Kluivert’s Indonesian national team squad.  

Thanks to his standout season, the 22-year-old's market value surged from Rp2.17 billion to Rp3.48 billion, as per Transfermarkt. This increase has fueled speculation about a potential transfer, with Arema FC being one of the clubs reportedly interested in signing him. The Malang-based team had previously shown interest in Rumakiek but had yet to secure his signature.  

With the Liga 2 season concluded, Arema FC may revisit their pursuit of the Persipura star in preparation for the 2025-2026 Liga 1 campaign. Determined to reclaim their status as title contenders, the club is eager to strengthen its squad, having last won Indonesia’s top-tier league in the 2009-2010 season.  

It remains to be seen whether Rumakiek will stay with Persipura or make the leap to Liga 1 in the upcoming season.
