Persija Faces Internal Struggles: Supporters Call for Resolution

Persija Jakarta is currently facing internal issues, and their supporters, The Jakmania, are urging for a swift resolution. Diky Budi Ramadhan, the Chairman of The Jakmania, has acknowledged these challenges and communicated with key stakeholders including the players, the manager, and the club’s management to address the situation.

The internal problems came to light after the team’s match against PSIS Semarang on March 5, 2025, with coach Carlos Pena confirming the issues. It is reported that the team’s financial difficulties are at the core of the problem, with some players not receiving their wages for 2 to 3 months.

Diky emphasized the urgency of resolving these issues quickly to avoid further complications. He mentioned that while financial concerns have not been explicitly named as the primary issue, the team’s recent performance—a series of five games without a win after a four-match winning streak—suggests underlying problems, including potential mental factors.

In his communication with the club, Diky confirmed that both technical and non-technical issues are being addressed. He noted that the club’s finances have been strained due to low attendance at matches and reduced merchandise sales, along with sponsorship challenges.

Diky encouraged supporters to contribute by purchasing tickets, official merchandise, and supporting the club’s sponsors. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining collaboration between Persija, the Jakarta government, and The Jakmania, similar to the synergy that led to the club’s successes in 2001 and 2018.
