Three New Naturalized Players Join Indonesia National Team – What Are Their Stats?
Emil AuderoMulyadi, Joey MathijsPelupessy, and Dean Ruben James have officially completed their naturalization process and are now Indonesian citizens. The three footballers took their oath at the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, Italy, on Monday, March 10, 2025.
With the naturalization process finalized, the next question is how these new players will contribute to the Indonesia national team. The head of PSSI, Erick Thohir, expressed his gratitude for the successful naturalization and emphasized that their presence would strengthen the national team ahead of their upcoming matches against Australia and Bahrain.
Dean, Emil, and Joey are expected to be part of the squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with Indonesia facing Australia on March 20 and Bahrain on March 25, 2025.
All three players currently play in European leagues. Dean James represents Go Ahead Eagles in the Netherlands, Emil AuderoMulyadi is with Italy’s Palermo, and Joey Pelupessy plays for Lommel SK in Belgium.
Dean James has been a key player for Go Ahead Eagles in the 2024-25 Eredivisie season, making 20 appearances and scoring 2 goals, including one in a recent match against NEC Nijmegen. Emil AuderoMulyadi joined SerieA’s Como 1907 in the summer of 2024 and made 8 appearances before being loaned to Serie B’s Palermo in early 2025, where he has been the starting goalkeeper in 5 matches, remaining unbeaten with 2 wins and 3 draws.
Joey Pelupessy started the 2024-25 season with Eredivisie’s Groningen, where he played 13 matches, mostly as a substitute. In early 2025, he moved to Lommel SK in Belgium’s second division, where he has been a regular starter, making 7 appearances and providing 1 assist.
