Indomilk Arena Renovations Complete, Persita Tangerang Returns Home

Persita Tangerang is set to stop being a "nomadic" team, as their home ground, Indomilk Arena (formerly known as Kelapa Dua Sport Centre), has finally completed its renovations. The team will return to play their home matches there, starting with their upcoming fixture against Persik Kediri.

For the past season and a half, Persita has been playing away from their home stadium due to its inclusion in a list of 18 stadiums across Indonesia that were undergoing renovations. However, the improvements have now been finished, and Indomilk Arena is ready to host Liga 1 matches once again.

President of Persita, Ahmed Zaki Iskandar, confirmed the completion of the renovations, which included upgrades to the seating, stadium lighting, drainage systems, and the addition of a dedicated disability access pathway.

Earlier in the season, Persita's head coach, Fabio Lefundes, had voiced frustrations about being a "nomadic" team, especially with the lack of home support. He highlighted how the absence of a permanent home made it difficult to generate the atmosphere that helps energize the team. Lefundes had pointed out that clubs like Persija Jakarta, who enjoy strong home support, have a distinct advantage when playing in front of their fans.

Now, with the renovations complete, Persita will finally return to Indomilk Arena for their upcoming match against Persik Kediri on February 7. Additionally, it's expected that the venue will also host the Dewa United vs. Persija match on February 8. This marks the end of Persita's lengthy stint as a "travelling" team.
