Leicester City is poised to appoint Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new head coach following the dismissal of Steve Cooper. The Dutchman, renowned for his successful playing career with clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid, is stepping into the managerial role after Cooper's short tenure of just 157 days, which ended with a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.

Van Nistelrooy's recent managerial experience includes a brief stint as interim head coach at Manchester United, where he achieved three wins and one draw. However, he departed after being informed he would not have a role in the coaching team of new manager Ruben Amorim. Notably, during his time at United, he led the team to victories over Leicester in both the Carabao Cup and the Premier League, showcasing his tactical acumen.
